MEDIA ADVISORY: I.I.I.Â’s Dr. Robert Hartwig to Testify on Oil Spill Responsibility Before Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure

NEW YORK, June 8, 2010 — Dr. Robert Hartwig, an economist and president of the ¾«¶«Ó°Òµ Information Institute (I.I.I.), will testify at a hearing before the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure, U.S. House of Representatives, on Wednesday, June 9, 2010.

The hearing will focus on liability and financial responsibility for oil spills under the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 and related statutes in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Oil and other pollution of navigable waters, including inland, coastal and ocean waters are under the purview of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
